Weddings

Wedding ceremonies take place when two people choose that they wish to become married. People all over the world are married everyday and the wedding ceremonies that occur will differ from culture to culture, each with a varied of different customs and traditions. Most people will be familiar with the tradition western style wedding, modeled after Christian ceremonies, this style of wedding has become popular worldwide, but many people wish to retain their own traditional customs, particular those who follow religions other than Christianity.

However, regardless of the religion or culture of the people involved weddings are uniformly a time for celebration and joy and wedding ceremonies are rarely somber affairs. Drinking and dancing will usually take place and guest will bring gifts for the newly married couple, these gifts are often items that they may find useful when moving into a new home such as items of kitchen wear or crockery. Also many people, who do not wish to have a religious wedding ceremony will opt for a civil wedding which takes place in a registry office, people who also wish to have a wedding which is lower key than the usual type of affair may opt for a registry office wedding.
